An event that opens hearts.

Overwhelming response from children and parents

Garmisch-Partenkirchen, April 15, 2023  - More than 60 participants followed the invitation of music producer Goar Biesenkamp to take part in an interactive music event for children and young people who had fled from Ukraine at the Hochalm1705 on Saturday, 25 March 2023.

The joy of making music together creates a unifying togetherness; at the same time, fun in the snow was not neglected with snowball fights and building snowmen at the Hochalm at the foot of the Alpspitze.

The composer and music producer Goar B, who has been awarded with 70 gold and platinum records and is the mastermind behind the global hit "Mambo No. 5", launched the "A Place To Grow" initiative for people in crisis situations in 2015. The music producer Goar B develops music programmes tailored to the respective target group for people to participate in. In principle, participation is also possible without prior musical knowledge. Due to current developments, this event was dedicated to Ukrainian children and families, who were whisked away for a few hours into the breathtaking high alpine scenery and exciting worlds of sound.

Thanks to the generous support of the SANNI Foundation, Helferkreis Lebenslust Garmisch-Partenkirchen e.V., HOCHALM1705 and Bayerische Zugspitzbahn AG, participation was made possible free of charge.

Music connects: Creating a home for children

Munich, March10, 2020 - To enable an exchange betweenrefugee and native children and young people, composer and musicproducer Goar Biesenkamp and the Starnberg District Office invite you to St.Sebastian Parish Center in Gilching for the event "Music connects“.

The event marks the culmination of 42 music meetups that have been held since March 19, 2019 in

Gilching and Krailling. The aim is to bridge cultural differences, which often works better with  music than with mere words. At the free music meet ups, which have been taking placein Gilching and Krailling since March19, young participants with and without migration background are learning to lose their fear of contact, break down prejudices and develop a sense of community.

Stefanie Dümig, education coordinator at the district office, is convinced. "It was important to us that the focus isn’t on performance or talent, but on providing a safe place outside of school where young people can meet other children, have fun and make music together.," explains Dümig "I think we succeeded in creating long lasting connections that might not have happened otherwise because music helps people connect wordlessly.”

Musical integration project "A Place to Grow"with German and refugee children and teenagers

Weilheim, January 12, 2018 - With the project and workshop concept "A Place to Grow", Goar Biesenkamp wants  to make a contribution to integration and promote more heart and understanding of cultures. From April to October2017, a model experiment prefinanced by Goar Biesenkamp ran successfully in Weilheim, where German and refugee children came together every 14 days to make music in the youth center "Come In“.

Furthermore, Goar Biesenkamp wrote the song "Zuhause - Kindern ohne Heimat eine Stimme geben" (A Place toGrow - giving a voice to children without a home), with which several public performances took place on stage together with German and refugee children in 2017:

International fair for musical instruments and sheet music, music production and marketing

Frankfurt am Main, April 5 to 8, 2017 - With the initiative “A Place to Grow” a project will be presented on 7th April 2017 that showcases the unifying effect of making music together. In a 15-minute performance, children from the Frankfurt - Bonames refugee home and children from the Music Academy Frankfurt will perform together with the "Outdoors" on the Center Stage at the Frankfurt fairgrounds. The Syrian pianist Aeham Ahmad will make an appearance as a special guest. Ahmad is a winner of the Beethoven Prize for Human Rights and performed alongside Herbert Grönemeyer and the Sportfreunde Stiller at the "Stars Say Thank You" concert for refugee aid workers.

The performance takes place following the nationwide school band competition "SchoolJam".

The "A Place to Grow" initiative wants to give a voice to children without a home. For this purpose, musician Goar B wrote the song "A Place to Grow" as part of his project www.g-culture.com together with the singer duo "Outdoors" (consisting of Daniel Aubeck and Dominik Werner).

Afghan superstar Farhad Darya collaborates with German hit producer Goar B

Unterföhring/Bonn 2008 - The artist Farhad Dara, who was recently appointed UN Messenger of Peace, has recorded a CD with the music producer Goar B in Germany. The songs on the CD are intended to help the different ethnic groups in Afghanistan to reach out to each other.

The client of the project is the German Development Service.

In his homeland, up to 45,000 people come to see a performance by Darya. "With his songs, he appeals to young people as well as children and adults," says Goar B, explaining the singer's recipe for success, who has already released more than 30 records and CDs.

In his songs, Darya, who speaks seven languages, often takes up political themes, often sings about peace. "In a very lyrical and pictorial way," as Goar B reports. Darya's songs are intended to help people in Afghanistan reach out to each other and lay down their weapons.

The German Development Service (DED) supports the music project. 5,000 CDs with Darya's songs were distributed free of charge to radio stations in Afghanistan and neighboring countries. Due to the high illiteracy rate, "Yahoo," the name of the album, is the ideal way to reach out to them, says Dr. Andreas Schneider, country director of DED in Afghanistan.

Statement by Goar Biesenkamp on music as a medium of togetherness

Starnberg 2020 - I am grateful to have come into close contact and exchange with a lot of different people from all continents thanks to my music journey with my world hit "Mambo No.5". It became clear to me that only a personal encounter can create an experience that cannot be made or replaced by transmitted or book knowledge.

This way music can build bridges across language barriers and prejudices. Sharing something emotionally with other people is stronger than intellectual exchange.

There is no way back to protectionism in our world with a rapidly growing population and global internet. We must learn to communicate more and better. Music can promote togetherness like no other medium.

My desire as a musician has grown steadily to be able to make a contribution to society with music and to contribute to more heart and understanding among people. This is why I founded the initiative "G-Culture" in 2015:
